Alluri Sitarama Raju Academy of Medical Sciences (ASRAM) Alluri Sitarama Raju Academy of Medical Sciences (ASRAM) is a well-established private medical institution located in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh. Named in honour of the renowned freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju, the institution was established as a non-profit society with the objective of providing quality medical education and healthcare services. The medical college and its teaching hospital are situated across an extensive campus of approximately 100 acres, offering students a spacious and well-equipped environment for academic and clinical learning. ASRAM Medical College commenced its MBBS programme on December 18, 2000, with an initial intake of 100 students. Over the years, the institution has expanded its academic programmes and clinical capabilities considerably. It is affiliated with Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, and has developed into an important centre for undergraduate, postgraduate, and advanced medical education in the region. Postgraduate programmes across various broad specialties were introduced in 2007, followed by the addition of several medical and surgical super-specialty services. The college has progressively increased its MBBS intake in response to the growing demand for trained medical professionals. After receiving permission for successive increases in student intake, the National Medical Commission (NMC) approved an intake of 250 MBBS students annually from the 2022 academic session. This expansion reflects the institution's growing academic infrastructure and healthcare capabilities. ASRAM's teaching hospital provides students with valuable opportunities to gain practical experience by interacting with patients and observing a wide range of clinical cases.
