Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College & LSK Hospital, Kishanganj Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College & Lion's Seva Kendra Hospital is a well-established medical education and healthcare institution located in Kishanganj, Bihar. Established in 1990 by the Sikh minority community, the institution was founded with the vision of improving access to quality medical education and healthcare services in the relatively underserved North-Eastern region of Bihar. Its guiding philosophy, “Service to Man is Service to God,” reflects its emphasis on combining professional medical care with compassion and social responsibility. The college is affiliated with Mata Gujri University, Kishanganj, and its medical programmes are recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Government of India. Over the years, it has developed into an important centre for undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. The institution currently offers the MBBS programme along with MD and MS postgraduate courses across various medical specialties. The MBBS programme has expanded from its initial intake of 60 students to 150 seats, while postgraduate education covers 17 specialties. A major strength of the institution is its associated Lion's Seva Kendra Hospital, which serves as the primary clinical training facility for students. The hospital has around 610 beds and provides round-the-clock emergency services along with a wide range of diagnostic and clinical facilities. Its infrastructure includes advanced imaging services such as MRI and CT scanning, a blood bank, intensive care facilities, neonatal care, operation theatres and specialized medical departments. The hospital also experiences a substantial daily patient inflow, giving medical students valuable practical exposure to different types of clinical cases. The academic environment at MGM Medical College focuses on combining theoretical knowledge with practical and competency-based learning. Students receive training across fundamental and clinical departments including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Anaesthesiology and Radio-Diagnosis. Alongside academics and clinical training, the institution places importance on research, professional ethics, community healthcare and the overall development of students.
