### CHRIST (Deemed to be University) – CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has developed over the years from a small college into a multidisciplinary institution with a strong presence in Indian higher education. Its foundation is connected with the educational vision of **St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara**, a nineteenth-century educator and social reformer who founded the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) in 1831.
