### NIT Rourkela – School of Management The School of Management at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela is a management education centre that combines business studies with analytical and research-oriented learning. NIT Rourkela is an Institute of National Importance, and its School of Management has developed its academic activities with an emphasis on management knowledge, practical problem-solving and industry relevance. The school began its management programme in 2010 and has since expanded its teaching and research activities. The flagship programme of the School of Management is its two-year MBA. The programme covers important areas of business and management, including Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Operations. Admission to the regular MBA is through the Common Admission Test (CAT), followed by the institute's selection process. The school also offers a three-year Executive MBA for working professionals, along with Ph.D. and Executive Ph.D. programmes in Management. The MBA curriculum has been designed to provide students with both fundamental management knowledge and opportunities to apply it. Subjects include Financial and Cost Accounting, Marketing Management, Organizational Behaviour, Managerial Economics, Business Research Methodology and Business Analytics. Later semesters introduce areas such as Strategic Management, Business Ethics, Corporate Governance, Entrepreneurship, Operations and Project Management, along with elective courses. A summer industrial research experience and a final research project are also part of the programme structure. Research is another important part of the School of Management. Faculty and doctoral scholars work across areas such as marketing, finance, human resources, operations, entrepreneurship, strategic management and sustainability. The school is also involved in sponsored research and consultancy projects, creating opportunities to connect academic work with practical business and organisational issues.
