All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Patna is a premier medical institution located in Phulwarisharif, Patna, Bihar. Established as part of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), the institute was envisioned to address regional gaps in access to advanced healthcare, medical education and research. AIIMS Patna was among six new AIIMS institutions planned to strengthen tertiary healthcare and improve the availability of quality medical services in underserved regions of India. The foundation stone of AIIMS Patna was laid on January 2, 2004. The institute subsequently received its statutory status as an **Institute of National Importance (INI)** through the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act, 2012. Its official inauguration took place on September 25, 2012, marking an important step in the development of advanced medical education and healthcare facilities in Bihar. The first MBBS batch commenced in 2012, while hospital services began expanding from 2013 onwards. Today, AIIMS Patna combines medical education, patient care and research within a multidisciplinary environment. The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate education in medicine and nursing, along with advanced super-specialty training. Its academic activities are supported by numerous specialized departments and clinical facilities, providing students with opportunities for practical and experience-based learning. The hospital has developed extensive healthcare infrastructure, including emergency and trauma services, specialized clinical departments, intensive care facilities and advanced operation theatres. About AIIMS Bilaspur All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, is a prominent medical institution established to strengthen access to advanced and affordable healthcare in the region. The institute was developed under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), with a broader objective of reducing regional gaps in tertiary healthcare and improving the standards of medical education, training, and research in India. AIIMS Bilaspur functions as an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The foundation stone of the institute was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 3 October 2017. The Bhoomi Pujan was subsequently performed on 21 January 2019. The campus is being developed across approximately 247 acres in the Kothipura area of Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, with development planned in multiple phases. The first phase has established a major healthcare facility with a capacity of 750 beds and 41 specialty and super-specialty departments. It includes modern infrastructure such as intensive care units, modular operation theatres, CT and MRI facilities, digital radiography, a cardiac catheterization laboratory, dialysis services, diagnostic laboratories, and blood bank facilities. AIIMS Bilaspur began its academic journey on 12 January 2021 with its first batch of 50 MBBS students. The institute has since expanded its educational offerings, including MBBS, B.Sc. Nursing (Hons.), and paramedical programmes. Admissions to these programmes are conducted through the prescribed national-level entrance and counselling processes. Alongside education and healthcare, the institute has focused on extending medical services to the wider community. Teleconsultation services were introduced through the e-Sanjeevani platform in May 2021, while OPD services were subsequently expanded and shifted to the permanent hospital facilities. AIIMS Bilaspur also operates services under schem
